1. Our Commitment
Stonebridge Builders Merchants Ltd is committed to acting ethically and responsibly in its business operations and supply chain. We do not tolerate modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, exploitation or unsafe labour practices.
2. Our Business
SBM is an independent, family-run builders merchant supplying construction materials, timber, landscaping products, drainage, fixings, insulation, drylining and general building supplies from our branch in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
3. Our Supply Chain
Our supply chain includes manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, hauliers and service providers. We aim to work with reputable suppliers who share appropriate standards for lawful employment, safe working practices and responsible sourcing.
4. Due Diligence
As SBM grows, we will continue to develop supplier onboarding checks, supplier records and purchasing controls. Where concerns arise, we will review the supplier relationship and take appropriate action.
5. Staff Awareness
We expect staff involved in purchasing, supplier management and operations to remain alert to signs of exploitation and escalate concerns to management.
6. Ongoing Improvement
We will continue improving our policies, supplier review processes and internal controls as the business expands.
7. Approval
This statement is made on behalf of Stonebridge Builders Merchants Ltd and will be reviewed annually.
SBM may not meet the statutory £36m turnover threshold for a mandatory statement. This voluntary statement reflects our standards and will be updated annually.
